Project Overview:
The project aimed to improve maternal and child health outcomes for ethnic minority women and children in mountainous and remote areas of Vietnam by promoting healthy behaviors and care practices through culturally appropriate behavior change communication (BCC). It applied community-based and multi-channel communication approaches, including interpersonal communication, community media, and edutainment, while integrating gender equality and men’s involvement in maternal and child health care. The project also focused on strengthening local health system capacity from the provincial level to district health services and village health workers, and engaging local authorities and community leaders through advocacy to better protect mothers and children.
