Capacity building is a central component of CCRD’s technical expertise. We have extensive experience in strengthening the capacities of individuals, organizations, and systems within the health and development sectors, working with government agencies, NGOs, civil society organizations, and community-based groups at national and provincial levels.
CCRD designs and delivers comprehensive capacity building programs that combine training, coaching, and on-the-job technical support. Core areas include organizational development, leadership and management, program design and implementation, health communication and behavior change communication, monitoring and evaluation, and community service delivery. Training programs are tailored to the specific needs and capacities of partners, ensuring practical relevance and measurable improvements in performance.
A flagship example of CCRD’s capacity building work is its long-term collaboration with Johns Hopkins University, through which CCRD has co-organized international and regional training courses on strategic health communication. These programs have strengthened the skills of more than 120 leaders and mid-level managers from Vietnam and across Asia, contributing to more effective, evidence-based, and sustainable health and development interventions. CCRD’s capacity building approach emphasizes institutionalization of knowledge and skills, enabling partners to independently manage and scale up interventions beyond project lifecycles.
